An experienced Pharmacy Technician is needed to support a specialty retail pharmacy serving complex patients with multiple medications daily. This contract-to-hire position is based in Washington, PA, and offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team focused on improving patient outcomes in a high-touch pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications to patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
  • Provide compassionate, clear communication tailored to Medicare/Medicaid and low literacy populations.
  • Utilize Pioneer Rx software to manage prescriptions and patient records (training available if needed).
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Maintain compliance with state pharmacy regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Previous retail or specialty pharmacy technician experience, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with chronic disease management.
  • Proven ability to communicate patiently and effectively with patients managing complex medication regimens.
  • Familiarity with managing prescriptions for Medicare/Medicaid populations, including those with low literacy.
  • Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy registration required; national certification (PTCB) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Pioneer Rx software is a plus, though training can be provided.
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM
  • No weekend shifts
  • This role is ideal for a pharmacy technician ready to engage meaningfully with patients managing chronic illnesses in a specialty pharmacy setting. The initial contract period is approximately 13 weeks, with potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance.
