A Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician role is available in San Antonio, Texas, offering an engaging opportunity to support pharmacy operations within a specialized setting. This contract position requires a Texas Pharmacy Technician License and offers a consistent afternoon-evening shift from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, starting March 2, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medications by accurately reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling for pharmacist dispensing.
  • Dispense medications, process insurance claims, update patient profiles, and maintain accurate prescription filing.
  • Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, entering orders, rotating stock, and ordering necessary supplies.
  • Support daily workflow including pharmacy opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth, timely operations.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and internal teams, providing assistance to enhance medication awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with quality checklists, adhere to safety standards, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Perform specialized tasks such as operating dispensing machines or robotics, assisting with IV room duties, and compounding sterile or non-sterile medications, as applicable.
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Experience in long term care pharmacy settings preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-driven environment.
