A healthcare facility in the New Orleans area is seeking an experienced Critical Care / Clinical Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment starting June 2nd. This role focuses on providing specialized pharmaceutical care within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CV ICU) and Medical ICU2, ensuring optimal medication management and patient outcomes in a high-acuity inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services focused on critical care patients in the CV ICU and Medical ICU2.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy based on patient conditions.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EPIC) to document clinical interventions and monitor therapy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of critical care pharmacotherapy and hospital protocols.
  • Support compliance with hospital and regulatory standards governing pharmaceutical practice.
  • Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in critical care or clinical pharmacy, preferably with Level 1 trauma experience.
  • Board Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Possession of a current Louisiana pharmacist license.
  • Familiarity and proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Post-graduate year two (PGY-2) residency background is highly desirable, but first-time travelers are also encouraged to apply.
  • Schedule:

  • Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, every other week (EOW).
