This opportunity seeks an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy at a hospital in Marshall, Michigan. The role offers a chance to provide critical leadership and operational oversight in an inpatient setting, guiding a dedicated team of pharmacists and technicians while supporting patient care quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, including 6 pharmacists and 8 technicians
  • Oversee sterile compounding operations complying with USP 797 and 800 standards
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and on-call coverage as needed
  • Facilitate communication and meetings to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
  • Monitor financial aspects of the pharmacy department
  • Support recruitment and retention of pharmacy personnel
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to stabilize and enhance pharmacy services
  • Represent pharmacy services with professionalism and accountability
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Michigan (required)
  • Proven leadership experience in inpatient pharmacy settings
  • Knowledge of sterile compounding regulations and practices (USP 797 and 800)
  • Familiarity with Cerner order entry system preferred; training available
  • Experience working with Pyxis automation system is a plus; training provided
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Schedule & Location:

  • Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Weekend and on-call coverage may be required if other staff are unavailable
  • Based in Marshall, Michigan, with the nearest airport located in Detroit
  • Professional dress code expected
  • This contract assignment is ideal for a pharmacy professional ready to lead with integrity and drive operational excellence. Candidates available to start the week of July 27th are preferred, as coverage is needed until early August 2026.
