Lead pharmacy operations in a dynamic behavioral health setting as the Interim Director of Pharmacy at a newly launching facility in St. Louis, MO. This contract role offers the opportunity to shape pharmacy services in an inpatient behavioral health environment licensed for 96 beds, beginning with 12 patients. Candidates will play a pivotal role from startup through steady-state operations until the permanent director is hired, approximately 8+ weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive pharmacy setup and oversee medication procurement, packaging, and stocking of Pyxis systems
  • Verify medication orders upon patient admission and maintain comprehensive communication with C-suite executives and Area Director of Pharmacy
  • Manage on-call duties Monday-Friday plus weekend on-call support
  • Collaborate remotely with the Area Director of Pharmacy for training and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and maintain medication safety standards in a psychiatric/behavioral health inpatient setting
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Missouri Pharmacist license and certification in Medication Therapy Services (MTS)
  • Experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practices and proficiency with Pyxis automation
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry system (training provided)
  • Ability to work independently—as this site currently has no pharmacy staff or technician support
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with an aptitude for working with executive leadership
  • Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, plus on-call coverage as needed
  • Weekend on-call coverage only
