A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist In Charge to lead operations at a newly established Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy site. This direct hire position offers the chance to shape a start-up pharmacy serving client facilities with high-quality pharmaceutical care and strict regulatory compliance.

This site operates 24/7 with a robust team consisting of 9 pharmacists, 30 pharmacy technicians, and administrative support. The Pharmacy In Charge will oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to all state and federal laws as well as company policies. Visibility and hands-on engagement are essential—you will lead by example, motivating and supporting your team to meet productivity goals while maintaining exceptional service standards. The pharmacy utilizes Frameworks and DocuTrack software for its operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance programs and pharmacy policies
  • Ensure proper review and execution of physician prescriptions for appropriateness and legality
  • Oversee inventory control, proper labeling, storage, and prevent expiration of medication products
  • Prepare medications accurately following dosing and safety standards
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal procedures
  • Foster strong team communication, motivation, and collaboration
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Virginia pharmacist license must be active and current
  • Minimum of 5+ years of LTC pharmacy experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Proven background as a Pharmacist In Charge with operational expertise in a start-up or fast-growth environment
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical compounds, dosage administration, and medication safety
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Frameworks software applications
  • Strong organization, communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset
  • Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology is required
  • Location & Schedule:

  • This position is located outside of the primary target city to expand candidate sourcing within Virginia and North Carolina regions.
  • Site offers multiple shifts including first (7 a.m. – 3 p.m.) and second (3 p.m. – 11 p.m.), with additional shifts to be determined.
