Staff Pharmacist (Contract – 13 Weeks)
Location: Minnesota
Schedule: Variable Shifts (Weekdays & Weekends)
Environment: Long-Term Care (LTC) Mail Order Pharmacy
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

RPh on the Go is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join a Long-Term Care (LTC) mail order pharmacy on a 13-week contract. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, a strong commitment to patient safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday: Rotating shifts
  • 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 8:30 PM
  • (Schedule will vary weekly) 
  • Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept, review, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor patient medication compliance, identifying potential overuse or misuse patterns.
  • Ensure medication therapies are appropriate, safe, and effective for patients.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and oversee proper pharmacy documentation and file management.
  • Provide patient counseling on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including usage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Offer clinical consultations on medication therapy, storage, and administration.
  • Deliver patient services such as:
  • Smoking cessation guidance
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Cholesterol management education
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters).
  • Perform compounding of medications, including preparation of sterile solutions following established protocols.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain and manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related issues and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to resolve concerns and optimize therapy.
  • Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.

  • Required Qualifications
    :

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active and unrestricted Minnesota Pharmacist License.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance standards, and patient care practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy settings.
  • IV compounding experience (preferred but not required).
