This role offers a compelling opportunity for a licensed pharmacist with experience in retail or long-term care settings to contribute within a dynamic LTC mail order pharmacy environment. The position entails rotating first and second shifts (8:00 am–4:30 pm and 2:30 pm–11:00 pm) with weekend rotations, spanning a 13-week contract-to-hire assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret physician orders ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and safety.
  • Dispense medications precisely according to prescriptions and long-term care standards within a high-volume mail-order workflow.
  • Maintain and update accurate patient medication profiles reflecting current therapies.
  • Monitor therapeutic outcomes and resolve drug-related issues for long-term care residents.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication regimen reviews to guarantee safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide detailed drug information and education to caregivers, nursing staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and modify individualized care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state pharmacy laws, including documentation standards.
  • Manage data tasks such as verifying orders and overseeing workflow queues to support accurate medication distribution.
  • Support medication adherence monitoring and address therapy challenges commonly seen in the long-term care population.
  • Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts pharmacy license required.
  • Experience in retail or long-term care pharmacy settings.
  • PharmD degree considered a strong plus.
