A leadership role is available for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director at a 503A Compounding Pharmacy facility. This position entails the highest level of pharmacy oversight, ensuring compliance and safety in the fulfillment of prescriptions, sterile, and non-sterile compounding operations. The PIC carries full regulatory accountability adhering to state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards. The role demands strong direction of daily operations including fulfillment, compounding, quality systems, environmental monitoring, personnel training, and facility readiness.

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Flexible Saturdays as needed
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the legally designated PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses unless otherwise assigned.
  • Serve as primary liaison with Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure timely reporting of operational, ownership, facility, or PIC changes.
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations, assuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
  • Manage batch record creation, review, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate production scheduling to meet delivery deadlines, inventory control, and capacity planning.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and foster continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid PA Pharmacist License
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as PIC or Pharmacy Manager
  • Thorough knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800> guidelines and 503A regulatory framework
  • Proven leadership in regulatory audits and inspections management
  • This role offers a 13-week contract with potential for permanent hire.
