This position offers an opportunity to work as a pharmacist within a dynamic long-term care mail order environment. The role involves a combination of dispensing prescription medications, providing patient consultations, and supervising pharmacy staff to ensure the highest standard of pharmaceutical care.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Schedule:

  • Wednesday – Friday: 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Saturday: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
    Duration: 13-week contract
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept, review, and dispense prescription medications following legal and safety regulations.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure prescriptions are appropriate and medicines are dispensed in accordance with the law.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation meticulously.
  • Provide detailed counseling to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications, including preparation of sterile solutions, adhering to proper procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Manage inventory levels for both pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues effectively.
  • Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Holding a valid Washington State Pharmacist license.
  • Experience working in Long Term Care, Mail Order, or Retail pharmacy settings.
  • Strong knowledge of medication regulations and patient counseling best practices.
  • Ability to lead and supervise pharmacy staff while maintaining a collaborative environment.
