A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist specializing in long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. This role involves working in a dynamic healthcare environment, ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications while providing valuable patient counseling and medication management services. The position requires vigilance in monitoring patient compliance and managing pharmaceutical inventory within regulatory guidelines.

Location: West Jordan, UT
Schedule:

  • Wednesday to Sunday: 2 PM – 6 PM
  • Monday to Tuesday: 9 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications to patients.
  • Monitor medication compliance, identify over-usage, and address drug-related issues.
  • Ensure medication supply and dispensing adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide expert consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Educate patients on medication use and medical device handling, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Offer additional patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory to meet patient and facility needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related problems.
  • Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Valid Washington State Pharmacist license required.
  • Experience in long-term care, mail order, or retail pharmacy settings essential.
  • Strong communication skills to support patient counseling and staff supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within the pharmacy workflow.
