A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist with experience in Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environments. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical care across variable shifts, offering the chance to apply comprehensive medication management skills in a dynamic setting.

Location: Eden Prairie, MN
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: Variable shifts (9:30 AM–6:00 PM / 10:00 AM–6:30 PM / 11:00 AM–8:30 PM)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept, dispense, and verify prescription medications following legal and safety standards.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify overuse or misuse.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Provide clinical services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications adhering to established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare practitioners including physicians and nurses to resolve drug-related problems.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory to ensure adequate supply and compliance with regulations.
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active Minnesota Pharmacy License.
  • Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy strongly preferred.
  • IV compounding experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively.
