A direct hire opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in inpatient pharmacy services at a well-established pediatric teaching hospital with 359 beds and Level 1 trauma designation. Location:

  • Little Rock, AR
  • Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense medications per physician instructions.
  • Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient histories, and medication usage.
  • Provide medication counseling to patients regarding dosages and potential side effects.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital pharmacy data protocols.
  • Verify appropriateness of dosages based on pediatric considerations such as diagnosis, weight, and age.
  • Identify and manage issues related to drug therapy including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions.
  • Evaluate drug selections and initiate or suggest alternative therapies when appropriate.
  • Review and approve non-formulary drug usage.
  • Ensure medications meet quality standards and proper labeling protocols.
  • Efficiently process medication orders and prioritize workload.
  • Monitor patient therapeutic outcomes and collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal care.
  • Participate in education and training initiatives for patients, pharmacy staff, and students.
  • Handle drug information requests and participate in drug utilization reviews.
  • Manage medication procurement and coordinate inventory control and related processes.
  • Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current Arkansas pharmacist license preferred; candidates in the licensing process are encouraged to apply due to temporary licensing provisions.
  • Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience.
  • IV experience or IV certification required.
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred.
  • New graduates with relevant certifications and enthusiasm are encouraged to apply.
