An expanding dermatology pharmacy headquartered in Tennessee is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to lead compliance and operational excellence efforts. This direct-hire leadership role is based primarily onsite in Franklin, TN, supporting a fast-growing company dedicated to simplifying complex issues and providing affordable solutions for dermatology patients across multiple states.

The Director of Pharmacy will play a critical role in ensuring readiness for accreditations and regulatory compliance, including URAC, NABP/VIPPS, USP 795/800, DEA, and state boards. You will develop scalable SOPs, compliance workflows, and training programs, while conducting audits to proactively identify and close operational gaps. Partnering with leadership across departments, you will drive consistency, structure, and accountability in pharmacy operations. The position requires leading efforts to maintain multi-state licensure tracking and coordinating quarterly travel to the West Texas pharmacy location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead readiness for regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
  • Develop and implement SOPs, documentation, and compliance workflows
  • Conduct mock audits and identify compliance vulnerabilities
  • Maintain multi-state licensure tracking and compliance standards
  • Lead compliance training initiatives for pharmacy staff
  • Collaborate with leadership to reinforce operational accountability and quality assurance
  • Drive consistency and audit readiness across pharmacy locations
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Tennessee Pharmacist license (open to strong candidates from diverse backgrounds)
  • Minimum 5+ years in pharmacy compliance, regulatory oversight, or quality assurance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong familiarity with URAC, NABP/VIPPS, USP 795/800, DEA, and state regulations preferred
  • Proven track record of building systems and improving processes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with compliance systems, spreadsheets, LMS platforms, and reporting tools
  • Location and Schedule:

  • Primarily onsite in Franklin, TN, with limited remote flexibility after onboarding
  • Quarterly travel to the pharmacy location in Abilene, TX required
  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM; no weekend or on-call responsibilities
  • Preference for local candidates; relocation assistance may be available
