This opportunity calls for a skilled pharmacist with a strong background in inpatient and emergency room pharmacy services. The position is based in the San Carlos, AZ area and offers a contract duration of 13+ weeks. The role involves working 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts, with variable schedules including nights, days, swings, and weekends. Experience in hospital pharmacy is essential, and certification in ACLS and PALS is required, with PALS training available on-site within the first month of hire.

Key responsibilities include directing and managing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards, and overseeing the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. The pharmacist will lead continuous process improvements, manage staff performance and growth, and supervise the computer-based dispensing system to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, managing purchasing and inventory functions cost-effectively is a critical aspect of the role.

The systems used include Scriptpro with SP200 Robot and RPMS Electronic Health Record, with plans to transition to a new EHR system. Two outpatient pharmacist positions and one inpatient/ER pharmacist position are available.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum five years of professional pharmacy experience, including two years in management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred with at least one year of residency
  • Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy license, preferably Arizona state licensure
  • ACLS certification required; PALS certification to be obtained on-site within first month
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to successfully pass background and drug screenings
  • Shift/Hospital Environment:
