This professional opportunity is seeking experienced pharmacists to provide specialized support across multiple outpatient oncology infusion sites within the Greater Los Angeles Area. The role emphasizes strong skills in intravenous (IV) medication preparation and verification, with a focus on safety standards as outlined by USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines. Candidates with chemotherapy preparation experience are highly valued, although this is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify and check intravenous medication orders, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
  • Support outpatient oncology infusion services by preparing and reviewing chemotherapy and other infusion medications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain patient safety and medication efficacy.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health record software for order entry and documentation.
  • Adapt to assignments across various health system campuses, primarily in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica, with possible travel to additional locations within the region.
  • Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • State licensure as a pharmacist in California.
  • Demonstrated competence in IV admixture preparation and verification.
  • Knowledge of oncology pharmacy practices and chemotherapy medication handling preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPIC or similar pharmacy information systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to multiple healthcare locations within the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
  • Schedule and Duration:

  • Monday through Friday daytime shifts.
  • Contract duration of approximately 13 weeks or longer.
