An immediate opening is available for a licensed Staff Pharmacist in Salt Lake City, UT, for a 12-week contract starting ASAP. This role offers a dynamic schedule from Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and detect any patterns of over-usage.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding medication supply.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide thorough patient counseling on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer inquiries.
  • Offer consultations on prescription and OTC medications, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications according to prescribed guidelines and prepare sterile solutions as required.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
  • Identify and communicate drug-related issues with healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care.
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current, valid Utah Pharmacist license.
  • Retail pharmacy experience is welcome; training provided for retail pharmacists.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Schedule/Hours:

  • Wednesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
