An experienced Infusion/Clinical Pharmacist is needed for a 4-week maternity leave coverage at a specialty infusion pharmacy located near Hartford, CT. This contract role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, starting mid-March with possible extension.

Position Overview:
The Clinical Pharmacist will ensure safe, compliant, and effective pharmacy operations with a focus on specialty therapies and infusion services. Responsibilities include clinical oversight, prescription verification, drug therapy monitoring, patient counseling, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor specialty drug therapies and recommend clinical interventions
  • Counsel patients on specialty medications and therapy management
  • Oversee pharmacy technician activities and ensure documentation quality
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, HIPAA, ACHC, URAC, OSHA)
  • Collaborate across Intake, Reimbursement, Quality, Nursing, and Pharmacy teams
  • Support prescription fulfillment, referral coordination, and patient onboarding
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required
  • Maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education
  • Required Qualifications:

  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Active, unrestricted Connecticut Pharmacist license
  • Solid knowledge of specialty therapies and patient qualification processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Specialty, Infusion, Hospital, Retail, or Mail-Order Pharmacy
  • Experience working with pharmacy technicians and clinical teams
  • Familiarity with specialty payer contracts and operational protocols
  • Experience with CareTend system
  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
