This opportunity is for an experienced Staff Pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services in a retail setting. The role is based in Mesquite, NM, with a contract assignment designed for a candidate available to support primary and secondary retail locations. The position offers a structured schedule with set hours and occasional weekend coverage.

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Weekends and six major holidays off at the primary location; occasional weekend shifts may be required at the secondary location

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start (all licenses will be verified)

Minimum one year of registered pharmacist experience preferred

APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days

Ability and willingness to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including occasional weekends

Strong background in retail pharmacy operations, ideally within a community grocery store environment

Competent in patient counseling, medication dispensing, and supervising pharmacy technicians

Flexibility to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing needs

Open to travel and available for a minimum of 13 weeks; shorter contract durations may also be considered

Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols

Maintain and update patient medication profiles precisely

Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify their daily activities

Participate in pharmacy team medical emergency responses

Conduct medication storage area inspections and identify expired or outdated inventory

Assist in orienting and training new pharmacy team members
