This opportunity offers a dynamic role as a Pharmacist within a Long Term Care (LTC) and mail order environment. Engage in a fast-paced setting that demands precision and a commitment to patient safety, working primarily through high-volume mail order workflows. The position features rotating 1st and 2nd shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) including rotating weekends. This contract-to-hire role spans approximately 13 weeks, with strong potential for direct hire upon successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety.
  • Dispense medications in alignment with prescriptions and LTC standards, managing high-volume mail order processes.
  • Maintain and update patient medication profiles for current therapeutic regimens.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses and proactively identify or resolve drug-related issues affecting LTC residents.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication regimen reviews in compliance with LTC regulations.
  • Provide drug information and education to caregivers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to tailor individualized care plans.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, maintaining proper documentation.
  • Manage data tasks including order verification, workflow queue management, and accurate mail order processing.
  • Support medication adherence monitoring and address therapy challenges common within LTC populations.
  • Qualifications:

  • Proven pharmacy experience in Retail or Long Term Care settings.
  • PharmD degree is a plus.
  • Active Massachusetts pharmacy license is required.
