This role offers a unique opportunity for a Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) to lead the licensure and operational launch of a new specialty hormone replacement therapy (HRT) pharmacy. Situated in a newly secured facility undergoing build-out, the position focuses on the mail-order setting with therapies including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and sexual wellness medications. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy application, prepare for inspections, establish all standard operating procedures (SOPs), and oversee pharmacy operations upon launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the named PIC on the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy licensure application and guide the process through approval.
  • Collaborate in ensuring the physical facility meets all regulatory and board requirements.
  • Author, review, and implement all pharmacy SOPs, policies, and procedures ahead of opening.
  • Oversee dispensing, mail-order fulfillment, quality assurance, and controlled substance compliance post-launch.
  • Manage DEA registration once licensure is secured.
  • Maintain audit readiness and act as the regulatory point of contact.
  • Recruit, train, and manage pharmacy staff during pre- and post-launch phases.
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing; no prior disciplinary actions.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a pharmacist with strong preference for prior PIC experience.
  • Hands-on experience with new pharmacy launches, including pre-licensure activities and regulatory inspections.
  • Background in specialty pharmacy operations, ideally HRT or compounding.
  • Strong knowledge of DEA compliance and controlled substance regulations.
  • Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure and potentially serve as PIC across additional jurisdictions.
