A dynamic opportunity for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge in a Keystone Heights, FL location is available. This direct hire role focuses on sterile compounding and infusion pharmacy support, emphasizing leadership, clinical services, and rigorous regulatory compliance. The position supports a low volume pharmacy dispensing around 100 scripts daily, with chemotherapy compounding of 15-20 preparations per day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders with precision.
  • Oversee and perform sterile compounding in full adherence to USP <797> and <800> standards.
  • Conduct final verification checks on compounded sterile preparations.
  • Review medication profiles, assessing for safety, allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams.
  • Supervise, mentor, and lead pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
  • Maintain environmental controls, aseptic technique, and cleanroom standards.
  • Manage quality assurance programs, medication safety initiatives, audits, and process improvements.
  • Maintain documentation rigor for compounding batches, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee inventory management, controlled substances handling, and daily pharmacy operations.
  • Develop, update, and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training.
  • Lead staff meetings and ensure adherence to OSHA, DEA, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment consistently and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of sterile compounding experience including hazardous and non-hazardous preparations compliant with USP, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and pharmacy management skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management capabilities.
  • Experience within the past 3-5 years in home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy settings preferred.
