Located in Kansas City, MO (local candidates or open to relocation), this Direct Hire opportunity seeks an experienced Pharmacy Director to lead and transform outpatient pharmacy services within a community health center setting. An immediate start by September is preferred.

This leadership role focuses on driving clinical excellence, health equity, financial sustainability, and innovation while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program regulations. You will oversee the 340B program’s administration, audit readiness, inventory controls, and resource optimization to support the mission of serving underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across all pharmacy operations including staffing, workflow optimization, inventory management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and ensure full compliance, integrity, and audit readiness for the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program; develop strategies to maximize savings and expand patient access.
  • Manage pharmacy financial performance including budget oversight, capital planning, contract negotiations, specialty pharmacy growth, and revenue optimization.
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge maintaining licensure and regulatory compliance, including pharmacy security and controlled substance oversight.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership, medical providers, and clinical teams to enhance medication access, care coordination, and clinical outcomes aligned with population health initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce pharmacy policies and quality assurance programs to exceed accreditation and organizational standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage pharmacy staff to promote engagement, professional growth, and accountability.
  • Provide clinical oversight in medication therapy management and serve as a pharmacy resource for providers on medication safety and formulary decisions.
  • Foster strong partnerships with internal departments, contract pharmacies, wholesalers, and other stakeholders while representing pharmacy on organizational committees.
  • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum 7 years outpatient pharmacy supervisory experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with outpatient pharmacy 340B programs, FQHCs, HRSA, and AAAHC.
  • Preferred credentials: BCACP, 340B University On-Demand certification, and 340B Advanced Operations Certificate (ACE).
