An experienced Staff Pharmacist is urgently needed to support a veterinary compounding pharmacy in Swedesboro, NJ. This contract role involves working in a high-volume animal-health setting that specializes in customized, non-sterile compounded medications for pets and other animals. The pharmacist will verify prescriptions, oversee compounding operations, and collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians and staff to maintain efficient workflow and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify veterinary prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
  • Perform final pharmacist verification of compounded and dispensed medications
  • Oversee and support non-sterile compounding pharmacy operations
  • Ensure accurate preparation, labeling, documentation, and dispensing of prescriptions
  • Review calculations, ingredients, strengths, dosage forms, and formulations as required
  • Maintain communication with veterinary offices for prescription clarifications
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations, compounding standards, and internal quality procedures
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and compounding staff to support daily operations
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active New Jersey Pharmacist License (REQUIRED)
  • Active California Pharmacist License (REQUIRED)
  • Experience in compounding, specialty, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy strongly preferred
  • Non-sterile compounding experience preferred
  • Veterinary pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to work efficiently in a production-driven environment
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with pharmacy staff
