A pharmacy opportunity is available for skilled pharmacists to support long-term care prescriptions at a healthcare facility in Waukesha, WI. This contract position offers a meaningful role delivering patient-centered medication management and consultation during the 2nd shift hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patient medication usage and adherence, identifying potential drug-related issues.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records.
  • Educate patients regarding medication instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Provide clinical services including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Train patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following appropriate protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare practitioners to optimize patient care.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory responsibly.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Wisconsin pharmacist license.
  • Experience in retail or long-term care pharmacy; training available for retail pharmacists new to this setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Schedule:

  • 2nd shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Rotating weekend shifts
