A professional opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. This 13-week contract position offers variable shifts with a schedule designed to accommodate diverse hours throughout the week.

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: Rotating shifts between 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM – 8:30 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and detect patterns of overuse.
  • Ensure all prescribed medicines are appropriate and safe for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with accuracy.
  • Provide detailed medication counseling including administration, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure measurements, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and maintenance of medical devices like glucose monitors and blood pressure cuffs.
  • Compound both sterile and non-sterile medications following established protocols.
  • Supervise the pharmacy team including technicians and clerical staff, ensuring smooth operational flow.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medical supply levels effectively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers including physicians and nurses to resolve drug-related issues.
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Valid Minnesota Pharmacy license is mandatory.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy preferred.
  • IV compounding experience is advantageous but not required.
