This role offers an opportunity to support inpatient pharmacy operations within a hospital setting, working directly with sterile compounding and general pharmacy technician duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare IV admixtures and sterile compounded products in a clean room environment.
  • Compound medication batches and prepare crash carts as needed.
  • Operate Omnicell and auto cart fill systems for medication distribution.
  • Assist with inpatient pharmacy technician duties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Work collaboratively within the pharmacy team to maintain efficient workflow and patient safety.
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday with rotating shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM; 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM.
  • Rotating weekends required.
  • Contract duration: 13 weeks with intent for hire.
  • Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification.
  • Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations.
  • Proficient in sterile compounding; experience with chemotherapy compounding is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy systems such as Cerner.
