A healthcare organization in Fenton, MO seeks an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead the opening of a new inpatient behavioral health pharmacy. This contract opportunity offers a focused role with days scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities on weekends, initially for 8 weeks with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy setup in a behavioral health environment, including procurement and packaging of medications
  • Oversee stocking and management of Pyxis automated dispensing systems
  • Perform order verification once patients are onsite
  • Facilitate communication with C-suite executives and Area Director of Pharmacy
  • Provide additional support and staffing during the pharmacy setup phase
  • Note: No sterile compounding required
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Missouri with pharmacy manager experience
  • Proven background in hospital inpatient behavioral health pharmacy operations
  • Hands-on experience working with Pyxis automation systems
  • Familiarity or willingness to train in medication order entry using HCS software
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • On-call weekends to support ongoing operations during setup
