Oversee the strategic direction, operations, and quality initiatives of an inpatient hospital pharmacy with this leadership opportunity. This role focuses on managing pharmacy services across multiple hospital locations, including both Firelands and Bellevue sites, with a strong intent for direct hire following a 13-week contract period.

Schedule: Weekdays with potential on-call responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 32 direct reports, managing recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development.
  • Collaborate closely with hospital administration, department heads, and medical staff to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Prepare and monitor financial reports, capital budgets, and staffing patterns.
  • Drive quality assurance programs and performance improvement initiatives across pharmacy services.
  • Represent the pharmacy department in purchasing contracts, formulary management, and regulatory compliance with agencies such as the FDA, DEA, and Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to foster growth and adapt to healthcare changes, partnering with senior leadership.
  • Participate in and support educational programs for residents, students, and allied health professionals.
  • Serve on Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees and other institutional committees as needed.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited program; advanced degree (M.S./M.B.A.) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a progressive medical center pharmacy setting.
  • Valid Ohio Pharmacy License and driver’s license with insurance eligibility.
  • Strong communication skills, financial acumen, and ability to work safely and compliantly under OSHA and CDC standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex operations successfully.
