This position offers an opportunity to serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy at a well-established acute care facility located in Nacogdoches, TX. As the leadership figure in the pharmacy department, this role primarily focuses on administrative oversight, staffing coordination, and ensuring regulatory compliance, all while maintaining a commitment to quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong administrative leadership as the Director of Pharmacy, overseeing daily operations and pharmacy staff
  • Manage staffing schedules and workflows to optimize department efficiency
  • Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards specific to inpatient acute care settings
  • Coordinate and lead pharmacy in-services to maintain a well-informed and competent team
  • Collaborate closely with clinical and support staff to promote quality patient care initiatives
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Texas pharmacy license with eligibility to serve as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
  • Proven leadership and management experience within inpatient acute care pharmacy environments
  • Familiarity with Cerner/Siemens order entry systems and Omnicell automation technology
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality assurance practices in hospital pharmacy settings
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a professional demeanor aligned with business casual dress code
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, daytime shifts totaling 40 hours per week
  • No weekend or on-call duties required
  • This contract role is scheduled to begin August 3rd and will extend for a minimum of three months, offering a focused leadership opportunity in an established pharmacy department staffed by a committed team composed of clinical pharmacists, PRN pharmacists, and certified pharmacy technicians.
