Travel Staff Pharmacist in Silt, CO
A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Silt, Colorado, beginning May 5th for a 20-week assignment with potential adjustment based on start date. This role involves a rotating shift schedule, working 40 hours per week with start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday and rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Key responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medications per physician orders, maintaining medication stock in patient care areas, and ensuring safe, cost-effective therapies aligned with policies and regulations. The pharmacist will interpret medication orders, accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, and comply with all applicable laws regarding controlled substances. Monitoring drug therapies for interactions and contraindications, performing pharmacokinetic dosing, reviewing culture and sensitivity data, and providing clinical consultation to medical staff form essential parts of the role. Participation in quality improvement, medication reviews, training programs, and serving as a member of the Code Response Team are also required.
Candidates must have active Colorado pharmacist licensure in good standing and hold a BS Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school. Certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are mandatory. Flu vaccination compliance is required from October 1 through April 1 with no exemptions accepted.
Experience with Epic electronic medical records is mandatory, as this assignment coincides with the facility’s transition from Meditech to Epic; prior Meditech training is a plus.
