This opportunity focuses on a clinical pharmacy role with specialization in sterile compounding, providing critical support to infusion pharmacy patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. Schedule and Location:

  • Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Located in Alachua, FL
  • Travel position with a 13+ week contract to hire
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately.
  • Perform and oversee sterile compounding activities in adherence with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
  • Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure medication safety and efficacy.
  • Review medication profiles to assess for allergies, drug interactions, appropriate dosing, and compatibility.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff in compounding practices.
  • Maintain cleanroom integrity through proper aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Document compounding batches, quality checks, and regulatory compliance meticulously.
  • Assist with inventory management including controlled substances and general pharmacy operations.
  • Contribute to pharmacy policy development, procedural updates, and staff education.
  • Actively engage in staff meetings and professional conferences.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing is required.
  • Minimum of one year experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding following USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and mentor pharmacy team members effectively.
