This position appoints a dedicated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a specialized 503A/B closed-door facility, focusing on sterile compounding operations. The role demands leadership in regulatory compliance, team supervision, and operational excellence within a multi-state pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the designated PIC to ensure adherence to USP <797>, USP <800>, FDA, and state board regulations
  • Overseeing sterile compounding workflow, personnel management, and quality assurance programs
  • Maintaining compliance with multi-state pharmacy regulations, including Nevada, California, and other non-resident states
  • Developing, enforcing, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sterile compounding activities
  • Hiring, training, and supervising pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards
  • Managing pharmacy inspections, audits, and handling regulatory interactions effectively
  • Conducting environmental monitoring, validation, and documentation to support sterile compounding integrity
  • Ensuring proper handling, storage, and dispensing of all compounded sterile preparations
  • Collaborating with leadership on operational strategy, expansion, and licensing initiatives
  • Keeping accurate records to ensure the facility is inspection-ready at all times
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree required
  • Active pharmacist licenses in Nevada and California, or completion of the California licensure process
  • Additional state licenses preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sterile compounding, preferably in 503A or 503B environments
  • Prior experience as a PIC or pharmacy manager highly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of USP <797>, USP <800>, and sterile compounding regulations
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-state pharmacy operations and non-resident licensure
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills
