This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned pharmacist ready to lead as a Director of Pharmacy within a critical access hospital setting. You will serve as the working Director of Pharmacy (DOP), managing and staffing the pharmacy while actively participating in inpatient pharmacy duties. This 13-week contract to hire position offers the chance to lead in a close-knit healthcare environment with daily census averaging 10 beds in a 25-bed facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations as the working DOP and staff pharmacist.
  • Manage and support pharmacy technicians, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Perform sterile compounding in compliance with USP 797 clean room standards.
  • Verify and check intravenous preparations compounded by technicians.
  • Utilize Cerner for order entry and Omnicell automation systems.
  • Maintain pharmacy compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Oregon pharmacy license.
  • Significant inpatient pharmacy experience.
  • Proven pharmacy management experience.
  • Competence in sterile compounding following USP 797 guidelines.
  • Familiarity with order entry systems and pharmacy automation, preferably Cerner and Omnicell.
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • Work Environment:

  • Critical access hospital with a small, dedicated staff (2 technicians daily).
