We have something a little different today, and honestly, for the right pharmacist, this will feel like a gift. A small 50-bed community hospital in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is looking for an experienced inpatient pharmacist for a 13-week or longer travel assignment, and if you have never been to the UP, prepare to have your mind blown a little. Think Pictured Rocks, Lake Superior, waterfalls, forests that go on forever, and a pace of life that reminds you why you got into healthcare in the first place. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful places in the countr,y and it does not get nearly enough credit.

This is a Monday-through-Friday day-shift role at a small hospital where your presence actually matters. You are not one of thirty pharmacists in a rotation; you are the pharmacist, and the team will feel the difference you make every single day.

Employment Type: Travel Contract

Assignment Length: 13 weeks or longer

Work Hours: 5 eight-hour day shifts per week, Monday through Friday

Facility Overview

This is a 50-bed community hospital in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. At this small, close-knit facility, the pharmacy team is tight, staff know each other by name, and patients are genuinely grateful for the care they receive. If you have spent your career in large hospital systems and wondered what it would feel like to work somewhere smaller and more personal, this is your chance to find out.

Responsibilities

-Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently using Cerner.
-Supervise and support pharmacy technician staff throughout the shift
-Consult with physicians and nurses on medication therapy and patient care needs
-Perform pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing adjustments for targeted medications
-Manage Omnicell automated dispensing systems throughout the facility
-Ensure safe medication dispensing and regulatory compliance throughout all operations
-Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes

Experience

-Hospital pharmacy experience required
-Cerner experience preferred
-Omnicell experience a plus
-Comfortable working in a smaller community hospital environment
-Open to and genuinely excited about the Upper Peninsula lifestyle

Skills

-Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
-Effective communicator with physicians, nurse,s and a close-knit hospital team
-Reliable and adaptable in a smaller community hospital setting
-Self-sufficient and comfortable being a key member of a lean pharmacy team

Qualifications

-Active Michigan Pharmacist License required
-Must be comfortable with and open to working in far Northern Michigan
