An inpatient hospital pharmacy role is available for a Staff Pharmacist in Mc Arthur, OH. This contract position requires a minimum 8-week commitment, starting on October 12, 2026. The schedule includes 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, with on-call duties after some shifts and occasional Saturdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify and review medication orders for accuracy, dose appropriateness, allergies, drug interactions, and contraindications.
  • Enter and process orders using the EPIC hospital pharmacy system; high proficiency with EPIC is mandatory.
  • Prepare and dispense inpatient medications, including IV preparations and sterile compounding as needed.
  • Review and monitor IVs, antibiotics, TPN, PCA, and other high-risk medications.
  • Monitor medication therapy, including renal dosing and therapeutic levels.
  • Communicate medication recommendations to physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers.
  • Provide responses to medication-related inquiries from staff and patients.
  • Ensure automated dispensing cabinets (e.g., Pyxis) are correctly stocked.
  • Participate in medication reconciliation to maintain accurate medication histories.
  • Monitor medication safety, compliance, and controlled substance policies.
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services such as antibiotic stewardship and anticoagulation monitoring.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support workflow and medication preparation.
  • Engage in quality improvement and pharmacy operations initiatives.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Ohio Pharmacist licensure is required.
  • Prior inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is mandatory.
  • Expertise with EPIC order entry system.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team including 3 pharmacy technicians and PRN weekend pharmacists.
