This is a 13-week contract opportunity based in Waterbury, CT, at a major children's hospital with a Level I Trauma Center and 1,500 beds. The role involves working within a hospital inpatient pharmacy setting, supporting clinical or operational functions depending on your experience—ranging from clinical pharmacy in specialties like pediatric or women’s health to pharmacy management or sterile processing.

The position offers a rotating schedule with a mix of day and evening shifts, including weekends (five 8-hour shifts per week). Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of pharmacy experience, including PGY1 residency training or equivalent practice experience, and hold a Connecticut pharmacist license. Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmaceutical care to hospital inpatients, including pediatric and women’s health populations
  • Support clinical pharmacy functions in relevant areas or manage operational processes in dispensing and sterile preparation
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective medication use
  • Participate in training and orientation activities during non-billable hours
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of inpatient pharmacy experience or PGY1 residency
  • Connecticut Pharmacist license (Temp License obtainable within 7-10 business days)
  • Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems
  • Experience or exposure to pediatric and women’s health pharmacy practices preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Location: Waterbury, Connecticut
    Schedule: Rotating days/evenings with weekend shifts (five 8-hour shifts weekly)

    Please note: There is a shortage of local talent within a 75-mile radius for this role. A Connecticut Temp License can be quickly obtained to meet licensing requirements. Additional non-billable time is allotted for training and orientation to ensure your success.
