Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Albany, New York
Shift: Thursday – Monday, Mid Shift (2pm – 10pm)

Job Description:
RPh on the Go is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team in Albany, NY. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for healthcare to develop their skills in a dynamic pharmacy setting.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, including counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, assisting with refills, and addressing patient concerns in a professional manner.
  • Enter patient and prescription information accurately into pharmacy management systems.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to verify patient coverage and resolve issues with prescription claims.
  • Maintain an organized and clean pharmacy environment, including proper storage of medications.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and tracking medication supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to support patients with medication therapy management.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, filing paperwork, and processing payments.

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred 
  • New York State Pharmacy Technician License (or ability to obtain) required.
  • Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and technology.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
