RPh on the go is searching for a Pharmacy Technician. The idea candidate will have at least 1-years of pharmacy experience. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Preparation and Dispensing:

  2. Accurately prepare and dispense medications, including prescriptions and over-the-counter products, for long-term care residents.
  3. Compound medications as needed, following established procedures and protocols.
  4. Label and package medications appropriately, ensuring accuracy in dosage and instructions.
  5. Medication Management:

  6. Review medication orders for completeness and potential interactions.
  7. Assist in the management of medication inventory, including ordering, storing, and rotating stock to prevent shortages or expired products.
  8. Refill and reorder medications as required, ensuring timely delivery to long-term care facilities.
  9. Patient and Facility Support:

  10. Communicate with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and facility administrators to address medication-related issues and provide necessary information.
  11. Offer guidance on proper medication administration and side effect monitoring.
  12. Assist with medication carts and automated dispensing systems used in long-term care settings.
  13. Regulatory Compliance:

  14. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including those specific to long-term care pharmacy practices.
  15. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including medication profiles and treatment histories.
  16. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent medication errors and ensure quality control.
  17. Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  18. Document medication dispensing, including patient interactions, prescription changes, and any incidents or issues.
  19. Maintain up-to-date records of medication inventories, orders, and audits.
  20. Customer Service:

  21. Provide excellent customer service to long-term care facility staff and patients, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly.
  22. Assist with patient and caregiver education on medication use and management.
  23. Team Collaboration:

  24. Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  25. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about medication management and patient care improvements.

 Shift: MId shift:  Wed - Sun;: 10am - 7pm.
Required

  • Pharmacy technician experience. 
  • At least 6 months, prior order entry experience. 
  • Oregon pharmacy technician license.
