RPh on the go is searching for a Pharmacy Manager/PIC.

Monday to Friday 8am to 430.pm
Might require on call or weekends/after hours

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for the overall management and operation of the pharmacy, including supervising staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, managing inventory, and delivering excellent patient care. The PIC ensures that all pharmacy operations are conducted in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance:

  2. Ensure the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  3. Maintain accurate records and documentation for prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  4. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
  5. Staff Management:

  6. Supervise and manage pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel.
  7. Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
  8. Provide training and development opportunities for staff members.
  9. Address and resolve any personnel issues or conflicts.
  10. Patient Care:

  11. Provide medication counseling and advice to patients, including drug interactions, side effects, and proper medication use.
  12. Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
  13. Ensure medication therapy management and patient safety practices are followed.
  14. Inventory Management:

  15. Oversee inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and managing pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
  16. Monitor and manage medication expiration dates and recalls.
  17. Implement procedures to minimize medication loss and theft.
  18. Operational Efficiency:

  19. Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
  20. Handle and resolve any operational issues or customer complaints.
  21. Manage pharmacy technology systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and dispensing systems.
  22. Financial Management:

  23. Monitor and manage pharmacy budget and expenses.
  24. Implement cost-effective practices without compromising patient care.
  25. Ensure proper billing and reimbursement procedures are followed.
  26. Collaboration:

  27. Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  28. Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
  29. Quality Assurance:

  30. Implement and oversee quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of pharmacy practice.
  31. Review and address any medication errors or patient safety incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Experience: Several years of experience as a licensed pharmacist, with prior supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Requirements 

  • PIC experience within the last year
  • 2+ years or more of inpatient experience
  • Colorado license clear and active
