A leading hospital system in New Jersey is actively hiring a licensed outpatient pharmacist for a full-time position in a busy ambulatory care / outpatient pharmacy setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical pharmacist or retail pharmacist looking to transition into a hospital environment.
Job Description / Responsibilities
Dispense prescriptions accurately and safely according to New Jersey Board of Pharmacy and federal guidelines
Deliver effective patient counseling on prescription medications, over-the-counter products, drug interactions, and side effects
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to improve medication therapy outcomes
Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, ensuring safe medication dispensing and workflow efficiency
Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC EMR and pharmacy information systems
Assist with inventory control, drug procurement, and compliance auditing
Uphold all hospital pharmacy policies, including controlled substance handling, storage, and record-keeping
Pharmacist Qualifications
PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school
New Jersey Pharmacist License (active and in good standing)
At least 1 year of outpatient, retail, or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Working knowledge of EPIC, drug interaction software, and pharmacy automation systems
Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and customer service skills
