Job Title: IV/Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
Location: Austin, TX
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Flexible (Day/Evening shifts, 5x8-hour shifts, with overnight shifts as needed)
Weekend Rotation: Required
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced IV/Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a hospital or inpatient setting, with a strong background in IV compounding and pediatric pharmacy. This role offers a flexible shift schedule, including the possibility of working evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compound sterile products, including IV medications and other patient-specific prescriptions.
  • Work with hospital staff to ensure accurate medication management and safe dispensing of IV therapies.
  • Participate in a weekend rotation to ensure the pharmacy is staffed and operational.
  • Provide assistance with pediatric patients, as needed.
  • Use EPIC system for medication orders, patient data management, and reporting.
  • Adhere to safety, quality control, and infection prevention standards.

    Qualifications:

  • RPHT-TX (Registered Pharmacy Technician from the State Board of Pharmacy in Texas) required.
  • CPHT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is preferred.
  • IV Certification is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience is preferred, with a focus on hospital/inpatient settings.
  • Completion of 40 hours of accredited training in compounding sterile products (either from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)) is preferred.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with EPIC system is required.
