Position: Inpatient Travel Pharmacist
Location: St. Ignace, MI
Hospital Size: ~60 beds
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Schedule: Variable days and afternoons

Responsibilities:

  • Order verification for inpatient medications to ensure accuracy and patient safety
  • Supervision of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and oversight to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
  • Consultation with physicians and nurses on drug therapy management, including appropriate medication selection and dosage adjustments
  • Conducting pharmacokinetics monitoring to assess drug levels and adjust dosages as needed
  • Ensure medication therapy management complies with hospital protocols, formulary guidelines, and safety standards
  • Participation in multidisciplinary rounds to provide expert pharmacological advice and optimize patient care
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of pharmaceuticals to maintain proper stock levels

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Active Michigan Pharmacist License
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience
  • Strong understanding of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication therapy management
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of hospital staff
  • Comfortable working with a variable schedule, including days and afternoons, based on hospital needs
