Pharmacy Tech needed for a hospital role in Ithaca, NY. This is a contracted position with an immediate start date and a 13-week duration. Contact: [email protected] 832-219-6206 
Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • 13 weeks
  • Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Saturday/Sunday (rotating): 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

    Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. This involves measuring, counting, and labeling medications accurately.
  • Provide customer service by answering inquiries from patients about drug coverage, prices, and related issues. They may also help patients understand medication usage instructions.
  • Manage inventory by ordering and stocking medications and supplies. They also monitor expiration dates and ensure that the pharmacy complies with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Process insurance claims according to patients' drug plans, contact insurance companies or pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to resolve issues, and ensure smooth billing processes.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care and support treatment plans.

    Qualifications:

  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program approved by the New York State Education Department or equivalent training and experience as determined by the Department.
  • Pharmacy technicians must be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) to work in New York.
  • Must be registered with the New York State Board of Pharmacy. Registration includes submitting an application, paying the required fees, and passing a criminal background check.
  • Pharmacy Technicians in New York work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and must follow all guidelines and protocols set by the pharmacist and the pharmacy.

    Pay Rate: $1,920 Gross Weekly Pay
