Hospital – Pharmacy Technician ASAP – 13+ weeks

Day/evening shifts are 8 hours in length

  • Day shift hours: ranges from 0600 to 1730
  • Evening shift hours: ranges from 1200 to 2230
Night shifts are 10 hours in length
  • Hours: 2100 to 0700
  • 7 days on then 7 days off
Position Summary
The inpatient pharmacy technician works in the central pharmacy to prepare and deliver medications to patient care units. The technician fulfills various functions within medication preparation including sterile and nonsterile compounding, prepacking, and dispensing medications to automated dispensing cabinets and patient-specific doses.
Duties:  Duties include, but are not limited to: Will fill unit dose carts, prepare IV admixtures, and answer/screen telephone calls for pharmacists. Will screen orders from nursing units. Will direct drug orders to pharmacist, fill orders for IV sets and solutions, toiletries and food supplies. Will deliver pharmaceuticals to nursing units. Will replenish and charge for ward stock items. Will restock pharmacy dispensing areas, obtain and organize supplies for pharmacist compounding, and repackage bulk supplies. Will maintain and clean equipment used in Pharmacy and will perform light housekeeping.
 
 
Qualifications:
Pharmacy Tech License
2+ years of IV Mixing exp
PTCB
Lead Tech EXP highly preferred
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Adherence to policy and procedures.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Efficiency and ability to manage time.
