Contract Staff Pharmacist (LTC) - Alameda County, CA
We are actively recruiting a licensed Staff Pharmacist for an 8-week contract role at a long-term care and hospice pharmacy in California. This role is ideal for pharmacists looking to shift away from retail into a more clinical, patient-focused environment. Extension or permanent placement may be considered based on performance and operational needs.
Position Details:
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Length: 8 weeks (extension possible)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: California (local candidates strongly preferred)
Compensation: $59.35/hour
What You’ll Do:
Accurately fill and verify prescriptions
Monitor and address patient medication compliance
Review prescriptions for legal and clinical appropriateness
Provide counseling on medication usage, interactions, and side effects
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices
Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications
Support pharmacy technicians and clerical staff
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
Collaborate closely with healthcare providers across disciplines
Qualifications:
Active California Pharmacist License (must be in-hand)
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
Long-term care or hospice experience is a plus
Excellent communication and attention to detail
